UCP Wheels for Humanity is a subsidiary of United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties (UCPLA). While UCPLA has grown significantly since the organization’s inception in 1944, the commitment to the founding mission of advancing the independence, productivity and full citizenship of children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities and those with similar service needs is unwavering. UCPLA provides 40 programs and therapeutic services across five counties in Southern California supporting 1,100 individuals and their families daily. UCPLA programs include: educational programing in the public schools to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities; adult residential and day services; support services for adults living independently; advocacy and family support services; and affordable, accessible apartments for adults with developmental disabilities. UCPLA’s services keep pace with the needs of our program participants and their families with equal opportunities for lifestyles that enable them to live in and contribute to their own communities.
