World Report on Disability: The first ever World report on disability, produced jointly by World Health Organization and the World Bank, suggests that more than a billion people in the world today experience disability.

UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities: The convention does not create any “new rights” or “entitlements”. What the convention does, however, is express existing rights in a manner that addresses the needs and situation of persons with disabilities.

Guidelines on the Provision of Manual Wheelchairs in Less-Resourced Settings: These guidelines, developed for use in less resourced settings, address the design, production, supply, and service delivery of manual wheelchairs, in particular for long-term wheelchair users.

Joint Position Paper on the Provision of Mobility Devices in Less-Resourced Settings: A step towards implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) related to personal mobility.

WHO Wheelchair Service Training Package - Basic: The main purpose of the training package is to develop the minimum skills and knowledge required by personnel involved in wheelchair service delivery.

Using the Human Rights Framework to Promote the Rights of Children with Disabilities: Discussion Paper: This paper provides an analysis of the synergies of three human rights treaties from the perspective of the rights of children with disabilities: the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women. It has been developed to encourage understanding of how the three treaties mutually reinforce each other, and can be used to strengthen advocacy in respect of children with disabilities.
